Updated on 4 JUL 10:
On the 24th June, we got another step closer to erecting the signs at the 3 sites under the control of the LCC. We received the Development Permit, Decision Notice, and Waiver of Appeal Provisions.
The LCC has approved the Development Permit, and unless we appeal any of the approval conditions stated in the Decision Notice within the 20 day grace period (elapses on the 1st JUL), the signs may be erected at the 3 sites: Willmann Park (Belivah), Martens Street (old Albert River bridge reserve), and Old Beenleigh Town. In consultation with a Civil Engineer, the conditions of the Decision Notice are acceptable and the Waiver of Appeal Provisions has been signed.
There is however, one condition of the Development Permit that requires a "Building Works Development Permit" (an engineer's certified copy of the design drawings of the sign frame and footings) to be submitted to Council for their records. Glindemann Signs was engaged to provide this certification, which was received on the 30 June and passed to our Club's civil engineer for appraisal. Once the Certified drawings have passed the appraisal I will start arrangements for the 3 signs to be erected.
Hopefully, the 3 signs can be erected at these Council sites in the next week or two.
The Traffic Control Permits from Main Roads are still awaited and will be hastened after the Council sites are completed.
Thanks to everyone who has supported the project and sponsored the associated costs. The Beenleigh Service Clubs of Rotary, Soroptimist, Quota, and Lions gratefully appreciate your contributions.
