By being prepared, Rotary will be there when people are in their greatest need.
What is a “ShelterBox”? - A shelterbox contains a tent and necessities to provide shelter and survival for up to 10 people. Rotary prepares for future crisises by holding supplies of “ShelterBox” in 5 strategic locations around the world including Australia, so Rotary is ready, able and prepared to assist in any national emergency, any where, any time!
Right now ShelterBox is in full swing to help our neighbours in Haiti.
Commenced 9 years ago, “ShelterBox” has provided shelter and necessities to over 800,000 people in more than 50 countries.
ShelterBoxes will be ready wherever ordinary aid could be too slow or too expensive to reach people when they most urgently need it.
We need your help to re-stock and have set a target of 100 “ShelterBox” and with your help we’ll be there again and again, New South Wales, West Australia, Timor or Timbuktu and you’ll be there by your generous far-seeing action.
The response of Australians to emergencies is legend and we know if you can help mitigate the effects of a disaster in a worthwhile way you’d like to do it. All donations are tax deductible. Our Rotary Club operates without overheads and is a voluntary organization, helping the community.
