Vocational Service Awards

As part of Rotary International’s Vocational Service Month we presented our annual Vocational Service Awards. The recipients were:

YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARD:    Alana Haswell and Jackson Heenan

Alana and Jackson attend Port hacking High School and are the 2008 School Captains. They were recognised for the outstanding leadership they have displayed this year.

VOCATIONAL EXCELLENCE AWARD:     Greg McGrath

Greg is the Principal of Port Hacking High School and was recognised for his excellent leadership of the school and the role he has played in developing the positive relationship between Rotary and the school whereby our programs can be beneficial for the students and staff.

PRIDE OF WORKMANSHIP AWARD:     Bianca Jervis

Bianca is a teacher at Danebank Girls School and is also a former student. She has been recognised for the excellent work she does in teaching the students in the special education class.

The FRANK CHAPMAN VOCATIONAL AWARD:     Terry Bouggas

This award is an internal club award in memory of past member Frank Chapman who was a tireless worker for the club. The award recognises the member who has used his/her vocation over the past 12 months to further the “Object of Rotary”. Terry is a relative newcomer to Rotary, but has made his presence felt within the club and is this year’s President. He is well recognised at District level and has generously donated his printing services to the District.

There is no doubt all the above are worthy recipients of their awards and it is particularly encouraging to see the maturity and service minded attitude of our Youth awardees.
