About RotaryNews.Info

Started in late 2006 by 2 rotarians, Robert Keast and Bruce Walker to service Rotary District 9680 websites and administration needs.

The project scope was expanded to Australia wide before it was launched, with clubs and districts in other areas of Australia expressing a wish use the RotaryNews.Info web application. Launched at the 2007 District 9680 conference it was an immediate success and in the following years this district provided training in its use to any Rotarian from within and from surrounding districts. District 9520 and 9750 (now 9675) were also early users.

The original site page design competition was won by a student from Hornby TAFE. Application programming and design integration has been provided by Bruce Walker. Robert Keast provided the concept and initial support, Robert withdrew from the project in 2010 to focus on his successful business.

In 2011 the site was used to form 2 E-Clubs. The E-Club of Greater Sydney, Australia's first E-Club, took 6 weeks to qualify for charter mainly because of the extra pages that needed to be programmed. The E-Club Next-Gen qualified in a weekend with a fully functioning website and reporting tools.

RotaryNews.Info was designed to save Rotary Clubs and Districts time, money and to help with administration.
